Just wondering if any of the later Bugatti ownership S2 models were ever imported into the USA? Features on this model look a bit nicer than the SE versions.

The S2 was never brought over to USA by Lotus, as the cars didn't meet the Federal safety requirements, and it wouldn't have been worth the investment to modify just a few when the whole point was to 'use up' old stock parts in a limited run.
That said, due to the age of the vehicles (over 25 years) I expect that they could be brought over now as an 'individual import', but that is something that you'd need to investigate to decide if it's worthwhile.

On a similar topic, i was trying to establish the number of M100s left in the UK from the entire production run. As we know only around 4500 were built for both models and 300 of the S2s were built for export, (not sure how many SE's were made for export. There cant have been that many built for the UK market in the first place. Id love to know just how rare they are on our shores today?

Look at the "How many left?" website.
Be careful to put the correct model description in as registering dealers weren't always consistent!

I looked at the How Many Are Left website and it appears that they do not have a specific tally for the M100 S2. For the M100 SE Turbo, they list 651 registered in Q2 2022 with another 714 SORN. Seems like a lot of garage finds just waiting to be rescued!

theres a lot of registrations just saying "Elan SE"
others just saying "Elan Turbo"
also many jsut say "Elan" which could be the old model
someone tried to make a tally years ago and couldnt get any conclusive number

There are also a number of Elan S2 shown. Some are the old Elan, but if you look at the years profile, it is hardly any, about 31. So the majority will be M100 S2, about 478.
