METALLIC NOISE IN LEFT TURNS

Postby PHIL70 » Sat 15.04.2017, 12:41

Hello,
I am French and I am the owner of an Elan M100 1992 rhd.
Sorry for my English, it is very poor.
I do not know if I'm in the right section.
I have a problem.
In the left turns, there are metallic vibrations in front of the car like a sheet that touches something but I do not see anything. In the right turns, no problem. Has anyone ever had this problem? (Exhaust ? )
What can be done?
Thank you for the reply.
Regards

I would start by checking that your brake hose isn't rubbing on the wheel.

I would also check the brake hoses first. If they aren't properly clipped in or tied securely you could end up with catastrophic results !!

Then check CV joint etc, etc...

Hello,

Thanl you for the reply.
This week, I am going to check the brake hose and the CV joint with a friend mechanic.
I don't think that there is a problem with the brake hose because it is a very strong noise.

Regards.

Hello,
Sorry for the delay. I had health problems.
We found the problem :
It was a plastic protection inside the wing that was broken.
It is why in the the turns, there was a strong sound.
I refixed the part and it is OK.

Thank you and hace a nice day.
Sorry for my english.
Regards.

Good to hear it was something simple. No need to apologize for your English here. We all speak Elan!
