The next big Lotus event this year will be the Lotus On Track (LOT) Lotus Festival to be held at Snetterton Race Circuit over the weekend of 13/14 Jun 2009. Planning is in an early stage but as it is 20 years since the M100 Elan was launched an LEC presence is planned. There will be an attempt for a World Record for Lotus cars and a possibility of a factory visit

The organisers of the event hope there will be sufficient Lotus Cars present at Snetterton event for an attempt on the World Record for the most Lotus Cars in one place at the same time.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The N/A-Team.

As pasted from Club Lotus' website:
"In conjunction with Lipscomb Lotus and Motorsport Vision there will be an attempt to get over 500 Lotus cars in a parade around Snetterton circuit on Sunday afternoon. The previous record was set in 2007 with 313 Lotus' taking to Brands Hatch but with the longer Snetterton circuit access should be easier this time. Cars will be assembled around midday before setting off on the record attempt."
You need to be pre-registered for this, if we get names on the list (nice one Specky), then I'll see about getting everyone entered at the same time to save you the hassle

I haven't attended any large events yet (I've only had my elan since Feburary) but I think a world record attempt would be a good place to start!
I'll be picking up some parts from the sale on the Saturday and will attend the record attempt on Sun.
One question, will the M100's all be in one area? I'd like to meet other elan owners and put some faces to the names on the forum.
Knowledge is realizing that the street is one-way, wisdom is looking both directions anyway

Hi Fetnas,
Welcome to LEC! Yes, the parking area will be seperated into sections for each model of Lotus car, so all the M100 will be together
Looking forward to meeting you.

There was an email that went out last week for those who have signed up for this on LotusCentral.com. If, like me, you did not receive the email then don't panic! The details are
www.lotus-central.com/index.php/en/news/226-world-record-attempt-impoPlease read this page carefully and completely, download the form mentioned and do as per the instructions.
Now I'm starting to get really excited!
