The next big Lotus event this year will be the Lotus On Track (LOT) Lotus Festival to be held at Snetterton Race Circuit over the weekend of 13/14 Jun 2009. Planning is in an early stage but as it is 20 years since the M100 Elan was launched an LEC presence is planned. There will be an attempt for a World Record for Lotus cars and a possibility of a factory visit

Any thoughts on a convoy to Snetterton?
I was thinking of picking up people as they are traveling up via M11 - A11
Birchhanger Services is one point (Dave Eds, gazza?), Fourwentways would be a good point for me.

When, Bob?
I'll be going up for the parts sale on Saturday & will be staying overnight. If you're thinking of Saturday morning, then I'm in.

Hi Bob
I'm only gonig on the sunday and would like to meet up, I dont know where Fourwentways is, my normal way of heading over to that part of the country is A1,A505 and pick up the A11 at Great Abington and find it a much nicer run than going A406 or M25 to M11 (so boring).

Fourwentways used to be a large service area on the old A11 before they made it dual carriage way and is right on top of Great Abington junction A11 and A1307. If you turned off just before the A11 then you would come to a round about, turn left and that takes you to the services at Fourwentways.

In no particular order mate, answers to unasked questions
Hour and a half from Birchanger allowing for queues at Elmdon and entering the track. 15 mins to 4 w/ways.
GT Cup practice starts at 9am with first race 9.30 am.
And to your text this morning Gaz - no I don't have elanscan or a laptop but do have an elanscan lead but it's not a USB one. I got a chocolate tea pot though.

Dave’s timings are probably not that far out.
Let’s see if we can come to a consensus on the time.
Fourwentways for 08:00hrs hows that sound and should get us to Snetterton for 09:00hrs
So that would be 0740hrs for Birchange and Gazza leaving home at 07:10hrs.

There us a lay-by on the A11 just after the A14/A11 limited exit may be a good place to pick us up
