Topic and Post order

Postby maz_r » Sun 22.02.2015, 16:05

Hi folks,

At the West Midlands meet up this week, someone said that they thought it was odd that when you click one topic, the posts are ordered from oldest to newest and you have to then go to the last page to read the most recent activity (not withstanding clicking on the little icon next to new posts etc).

Well, if this functionality also frustrates you, then you can change this behaviour by clicking User Control Panel at the top of the page, then 'Board preferences', then 'Edit display options' and then change 'Display post order direction' to 'Descending'. Finally click 'Submit' and from then on you will find the most recent post is first and the subsequent posts are listed from newest to oldest.

Personally, I find this harder to read, but you might prefer it...

Cheers

Fascinating! My preferences have never been set like that, I always (and always have) received them in 'newest' first order

Ah...oh....errr...

Perhaps it is just me (and the other Midland LECer) who are different to everyone else, in which case....

However, I suspect that you Pete are the exception and not the norm (but we all know that you are special anyway :))

Ah 'Special'. Now that can have a multitude of meanings best not to elaborate or dwell to much! :bonk:

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do this......

.... but putting my "Moderator" hat on.....

.... concerning inappropriate language.....

Such terms as "Special" and "Normal" are (in modern society) concidered to be inappropriate.

The recognised terms are "Atypical" & "Typical" (according to my son who works with 'atypical' students and is doing his degree in 'Inclusive Behaviour'.
