NO idea why.

Who is maintaining the WikiLEC site now?
Firstly, I wish to state that EVERYONE is well aware of the issue with WikiLec.
Secondly, EVERYONE complaining that the link doesn't work, and when will it be fixed is not helpful.
ANYONE who keeps saying that all it needs is fixing a link so it should be a 2 minute job - if you're such an expert, crack on and do it
ANYONE who wants to can get back every penny they have paid for access to the WikiLec whilst it is down.
Maybe you are right John - nobody can edit the header (well, that bit isn't correct, we can edit the header - that's the easy bit - the hard bit is guessing the IP address to which it should be diected - that information is NOT currently available to any of the active LEC members
As for your second accusation that nobody wants to, well, that is clearly not correct, but I would invite you to consider such comments before placing them into public as to whether they would be either helpful or inflamatory to the situation.
Well the web archive is available for reading through HTTP so a script can be done to retrieve its content, that is not a real problem (or even better, one can even use a website copier like httrack http://www.httrack.com/ to get a local copy)dapinky wrote:It may be easiest to copy the 'waybackwhen' site and paste it onto another server which could be linked to from our site, but again, I don't have the relevant access to do these things, and those who do may not have the time/knowledge to do it.
Actually I just don't understand why would anyone be upset if one would upload a new version of the wiki to replace the lost one? I must be missing something, maybe something is lost in translation, or some cultural difference or maybe it's just me, I don't know ^^'dapinky wrote:As stated previously, there are ways to access the information, so what would be gained by re-building it?
Purely the ability to add to it easily, and if you end up upsetting those who have previously bothered to do the articles, then they may well feel that they won't bother in future, so there is no point in doing it that way.
