I still don't get it
My only hunch is that Trevor's only just spotted his new title of "Wannabe Princess" many weeks and months after winning a cup for shininess at Brands Hatch. Hence lotustonybassplayer's cryptic crossword clue "Princesses favourite tipple a merlot" ie Trevor's favourite is a merlot, also the pet name for his car
If it's anything other than this then the world has definitely gone bonkers

Finally, the clues have been resolved and also the culprit has owned up.
I did have a 'Dave' as the culprit but must admit not that one - DaveEds!!
"edit" didn't see this bit
but it wasn'tGrrrr - still searching!!
This is why the Forum is so good, we can have 'banter' as well.
