So do we need to hunt down and buy a Silk red SE of 1992 vintage?

Nice colour and never seen one on the road.

Dave :)

I thought I'd possibly located the car yesterday... and she's up for sale... but the VIN wasn't the one I was looking for :(

Back to the drawing board...

I still recon its the NTC show car that i never bought all those years ago . Ex Lotus show / trim development car of some sort.
Having seen IB10 yesterday it had many of the same interesting bits . though NTC had the original hood stowage area that never came to be which was different to IB10 oh and tan seats that also never cam to be thought to be s2 prototypes
Jim Clark S2 - 1/12. The one with the Yellow spoke wheels . No 613 on dash (pushed in to factory in wrong order 615 on tub)

Ok, so I have a Silk Red, 1992. How might I check to see if it's the car you're looking for?

Safest way is to check with the historian at Lotus: Andy Graham

He will most likely know which car was at the 1991 Earl's Court Show and can confirm if your VIN is the same car.

AGraham@lotuscars.com

A simple message requesting information about the car at the show and stating your car Id and he will (I hope) at least supply a Yes or NO.
You could explain everyone on LotusElanCentral.com with a Silk Red car is asked to see if they have the car in question or knows anything of it's current whereabouts.
Is it possible the car ended up in the royal family's possession?

If for some reason he provides the ID of the car, please share it with Specky at the very least, so his records are updated.

I'm looking for something LHD1 or MHD1

Emma, have a check of the Vin no. and see if it matches what Specky is looking for. I believe he knows the Vin No. of the car in question.
