A place to share those photographs and discuss past M100 Elan memorabilia.
So it may be one of the factory tie Pins, a colour photograph of Britt Ekland, a crazy tie or just the fast cat sticker.
Here's some thing that may help the old grey cells kick into action.

Can you recall the M100 fast cat stickers that were dotted around, sorry it's not as orange as it should be, but the scanner hasn't picked up the true orange.

Here's a photo instead.

Here's an odd one.... two Lotus models,
A motorshow Elan and a young model called Melissa, the photo was taken at the end of the USA launch... (the tidy up)
I have the original photo and know more details about the picture.

HI,
Just been browsing with some interest and thought you might like to see this tie pin as I couldn't find any other reference to its existence on here or the web.
It was given to employees at the time (as I was between 1993 - 1998) to commemorate the Elan S2 you have pictured with Britt Ekland. I remember that day and her visiting the factory, etc and many other memories from Hethel.
I also have the standard Lotus tie pin and an Elise one, and still have all of my employment letters and a what might be rare Lotus Staff Handbook, and numbered Lotus Calendar.
Great memories.
Anyway, thought you might like to see this in your memorabilia section.
All the best,
KC

That's a cracking piece of memorobilla, I'm glad you found us.
If you can put any names to faces from the pictures on the associated threads that would be grand.
I can't argue with Rambo, he has a valid point, I'm trying to collect as much M100 memrobilla as possible. Eventually I aim to put it on show.
Many thanks, I can't wait for your next installment.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback, have you seen this badge before?
I recognise the faces in a few pictures, but don't know their names I'm afraid. the one's either side of Britt were line assembly staff as you've probably already worked out.
I was always Lotus spotting when I was younger and I used to see a few of the test cars around, there also used to be someone living at the end of my road who worked for Lotus and in particular kept bringing home a Carlton with bits stuck to it when they were developing that. I never found out who he was though. I also remember Lotus were involved in my local school when I was 14 (1990) and we did a two day education thing with them - when they first showed us the Elan interior on a projector screen everyone thought the colour stripe was horrible..! We had a factory visit too, so that was when the Elan was first being made - three years later and I was working for them.
I'll post some more pictures soon, but they may not all be Elan related.
Cheers,
KC

I look forward to it,
Would there be another group out there that does anything for Ex employees?, Face Book for example or a norwich based club?

Forgot to say...
I hadn't seen the badge before, and did you get involved in signing any cars or writing silly messages?

Hi,
I wondered that too, in fact part of my wondering / wandering led me here so that was a good thing. I'm not on Facebook so i can't check and I'm not aware of a Norwich based club either. There must be a few ex people about.. perhaps I should start one..!

Not guilty to signing any cars or anything, I'm afraid..! Glad that the badge was new to you and I could share it with the Forum.

I've thought about making a group on FB for ex employees, but then thought there would be a sense of irony of the founder being a non Lotus employee.

Very surprised you didn't fork out for the Zante when it went up for sale recently

I was so close, but I couldn't justify another Elan.
I've had the chance to buy the Zante and the M200, but thought I must keep saving for the new Elan in 2013... Luckily it's now delayed, so I might be tempted when they reappear.
I'd love a "Lotus" hard top as well.
I'm all want want want... LOL

Sorry the last picture is a bit blurry. There are 6 pictures with two months on each - a mix of Esprit S4 and Sport 300 models.
I had this advertised on eBay once - no takers!

Another piece of Elan related memorabilia turned up on eBay. I've never seen that one before.
I guess more oddities will turn up over the years.
