Opie Oils club discount

Postby ashm » Thu 15.10.2009, 16:30

Do any of our friendly admins fancy registering LEC for a club discount with Opie? We're not on the list.

I've checked a few prices for common oils.
Castrol Edge Sport 10W/60 looks good.
Castrol Magnatec 10W/40 looks expensive.
Mobil 1 0W/40 also looks expensive.

If you join their facebook page, you get:

Castrol Edge Sport 10W-60 5L £33.74
Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 5W-40 5L £35.09

http://www.nielsencdg.co.uk also have some good prices:

Castrol Edge Sport 10W-60 4L £29.89
Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 5W-40 4L £29.89

Those are really the only oils I'm interested in, so they're the only ones I've investigated...

Considering how quickly he used to jump on any forum and start spamming/advertising, I'm amazed he's missed LEC. So long as you remember it's the standard marketing tactic of pricing high then offering a "discount" I suppose it won't hurt, but with high spec oils being more readily available elsewhere these days, the delivery charges mean they aren't as competitive as they used to be.

Yep, they're often running short term special offers. When there's an offer on the right items their prices tend to be pretty good from what I've seen, but you've got to wait for the promotion to come around. Having said that, I did have a brief email exchange that suggested additional discounts are somewhat negotiable the rest of the time. Anyway I've had good value from Opie so far so no complaints here.
