power steering fluid

Postby tradeft » Wed 23.08.2006, 18:24

Went to a local O'Reilly's and all they had were 2 types of power steering fluids... one generic looking brand, and one Valvoline Max Life

The Valvoline says its compatible with gm, ford, chrysler and certain import vehicles. Part No is VV335

Any idea if this would work in my 1991 Elan?

If not, where and which type of fluid should I look for?

Thanks in advance

So Dexron III automatic trans fluid will still work with the power steering?

Yes that is right. The recommended fluid is Dexron or Dexron II. Dexron III is the replacement.
