Very sad news.
I only met him once at Donington I think it was about 2003, he had just bought his elan and I remember he was just full of enthusiasm.
Condolences to his family.

Very sad news. RIP Sy. My Condolences to Simon's family.

I only met Sy once. Probably about 2003. When he offered to sell me a replacement wheel for my car.
He invited me in to his house and garage as though we had known each other for years.
7,000 mile round trip, was well worth it. What a great guy :)
I still have the LEC Cat on skates stickers that he gave me.

Such a sad loss for everyone that knew him. (either in person or on the LEC).

So saddened by the news

Sy has been a fundamental figure in my initial and continued welcome to LEC providing friendship, advice, laughs (especially with his crazy choice in trousers!) and a central figurehead for many LEC members.

I can proudly say I feel blessed and ever grateful to of met him :)

Life can be harsh taking such wonderful people from us prematurely and my well wishes sincerely go out to everyone close to the great guy.

Sy - you live on in many great memories and stories x

The funeral will be held at Redditch Crematorium (Bordesley Lane, B97 6RR) at 1400 hrs Thursday 3rd march, and afterwards at the Wildmoor Oak, Postcode B61 0RB.

I have no details of 'dress code' at this stage, but will update as and when I know more.

Date in my diary.

Should be able to attend, but sadly not in an Elan.

More details are arriving steadilly for the funeral arrangements, I hope to be in a possition to publish a reasonable ensemble of information in the next day or so as specific requests are answered.

I was away when I heard this sad news via another social medium.
Sad news. I hope to attend the funeral. I'm sure Sy would appreciate a few of us with or without their Elans.

Don't come on here much nowadays, but I was very shocked to here this sad news. If it wasn't for Sy donating a good chassis, then the JPS would never of got done, & he always made me welcome. RIP

Just heard the news via Paul.

Very sad. He was a generous man. I remember when we all camped out in the field behind his house and lots of other events he put together too...

...and I've had my share of bollockings from him too....
