Hi, I am thinking of returning to the Lotus brand after a 32 year absence. My last Lotus was a 1968 Elan. I have had 45 sports cars since that time and am on the hunt for an Elan M100. To be used exclusively as a dry day weekend car. Should anyone be thinking of selling please let me know. I am located in Morpeth, Northumberland, so the more local the better. I am currently in correspondence with an autotrader seller regarding a blue Elan reg no M323LKG which is currently baring a private plate, any advice would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows the vehicle. Meanwhile the search continues. Many thanks. DAVE.

Azure blue number 452 last seen on Autotrader last year. Once owned by Siegreen so maybe worth dropping him an e-mail. Good luck - you missed a cracker when Dave in Whitley Bay sold his.

Dave,
I'm based in Chester and will be actively selling mine shortly. Red turbo, 142,000 miles, private plate D19TUS, have owned it for 4 years and have spent in excess of £14,000 with receipts to prove. Club Lotus valuation of £12,000 but looking for £5,750. If you are interested let me have your email address and I can send over pictures and a summary of all the work done on it. You can also call my local Lotus specialist, PNM Engineering, for their view on the car. The car has just had a major service including cam belt and water pump so it won't need anything for a while.

I'm happy to talk through what has been done and what to look out for when buying though the forum guide covers most of the potential issues. I don't know where the Blue one is based but if its not far from me you could compare the two.

Happy searching.

Andrew
My wife's just divorced me because I wouldn't open the car door for her!
To be fair I panicked and swam straight for the surface.

Thank you for your reply.

The vehicle is now baring reg no D6MON. However the owner has just been in touch to say he has taken a deposit on it.

Thank you for your reply. If I donot get fixed up with something more local I will be in touch. It would appear most of the M100s are located well south of Northumberland. !.
The search continues.
Cheers.
Dave.
