Go back to photobucket. Hover over your photo, as you did before. Below the blue menu there are four boxes with text in them. Click on the bottom box, this copies the link into the windows clipboard. Go to your new post in LEC and paste the link into your post. Preview it and the photo should be there. I Hope!

Chipp

Have two Internet Explorer tabs or screens open at the same time, one with LEC on and one with Photobucket on.

On the LEC one go to composing a new post, just like you normally do.

Now go to the photobucket tab and sign in to your album with your photos in.

Hover the cursor over one of your resized photos and click on the bottom box just like I described before. Don't worry about copying or whatever, just click on it as you normally do when selecting an option on a menu. Now, it's automatically copied it into your clipboard, easy!

Now go to your LEC post composition page, click anywhere on it so that it shows the text cursor against the left side just as if you were about to type something. Now, click the RIGHT button on your mouse and a little menu will appear and one of the options will be paste. Click the paste option just as you normally do with a menu and a load of text will be placed into your text window. This is the link to your photo.

Now press the preview button and your photo should appear as if by magic! Hopefully.

Can we not add a forum plugin to resize photo links? Other forums either resize large pictures automatically (ie if detected over a certain width, render them at reduced size), or at least allow <img width=600 height=400> (with [ rather than <) type qualifiers which mean I can link to hi-res images in photobucket (or wherever) without needing to have a resized copy just for LEC.

I've deleted the original for sale thread chipp - the one without the photos of course :D

Wouldn't want you to sell it once (would rather you stayed with us), let alone twice!

Go to the top of this page and click "Control Panel" ...the control panel page will then open ..
Click the "Profile" box from the top of the control panel page...
Click "edit Avatar" from the list on the left hand side of the profile page....
Click "Browse" to find the picture saved on your PC that you want to use....
Click "Submit" to upload the picture (new Avatar)..

PS; The new picture (Avatar) should be roughly no more than 11kb ... to check its size right click on it and select "Properties". The size will be shown in bytes.
Keep reducing the size of the picture until it gets to roughly 11kb or less (11000 bytes)

There have been a few posts about sizing photos lately.

I find the easiest way is (assuming you have MS Office)

Right click on the photo (or multiples)

Send to

Mail recipient (MS outlook will open)

Picture size (640 x 480)

Attach

Copy the attached file to the folder of your choice, already resized for your favourite thread.

After copying, delete the email, close MS outlook

If you can't be a good example, then you might as well be a terrible warning
