Re: Questions about the next LEC Calendar

Postby DaveT » Sun 04.01.2009, 11:20

Having OK'd things with Dave Speck I have volunteered my services to take on board next years calendar production.

If that is OK with everyone else??????

If I do continue with this I'll be looking to doing a selection of items
1 the A3 luxury calendar
2 a desktop calendar
3 an A4 size wall calendar [for those plebs who wish to scribble runes on something]
4 and possibly if there is enuff interest a diary [week to view with a new photo each week]

My intention will be to not replicate any photos on any of the calendar items.

Additionally I would wish that you all get out there and get some photos BUT if you do have some to put forward for selection I'd prefer that you DIDNT publish them on the web site as well- cos then everyone has seen them.

The shortlist for the 2009 calendar was 50 photos so I'll be looking for over 150 NEW photos to work with, so get out there snapping. The sooner the better.
Think seasonal, think missing colours, think unusual background, think unusual angles, think LEC/Lotus events.

NO
It would be much better if all the photos had not been aired to the masses at all. Much of the interest is already lost by doing that. Which is why I suggested that any potential photos be sent as high def to me.

at least we end up with a selection for the masses chosen by the masses......
it also encourages people to have a go.......

Well, whatever you decide to do- make a quick decision- cos I'm not going to do it in a rush like last year.

If you're going to do it by a vote Gareth, you'll need to set the system in place so its all sorted well in advance. We only just made the deadline for printing this year.

There's Pro's and Cons for any method....

I had an idea a while back....

It was basically the same...

Except, download the 11 selected high res versions to a photo bank...

Add one photo....your own car for example...(Every ones happy)

Then you get the Cal made at anyone of number of places...

I soon relized this was not what the LEC cal was all about...

It's an offical Cal of sorts

It's a competion of sorts

It raises a couple of quid for the LEC

I also thought a photo competion.....The winner gets their entry on one of the pages....(But would there be an equal split between cal and photo competion)

Hand on heart I thinks Dave's method of a blind cal is the way forward...

Keep up the good work...

BUMP

Come on folks were already into April and so far Monty is the only one to forward some photos for 2010's calendar. [Monty I'll want high res of 2 or 3 of the selection]

This weekend is one ideal opportunity to get your cameras out and do something different with it. Please!!!!

As already noted I'll be looking for some 150 photos for 2010 calendars/products so please get snap happy.

We all know what the Elan looks like so try and think more about the background, the content, the angles and the lighting- anything but another photo of a car in front of a garage!!!! How about some glamour? Celebrity on a seat?
