Yep, it's part of vent line (A075L6036F valve)

Don't forget we don't have charcoal canisters, but that doesn't really matter in the greater scheme of things.

I agree with it's purpose life, but it's a dual function valve.

So to tie up the last little bit:-

Where was this seat heater switch used on the Elan....

1st clue,when the car was blue, it didn't have them fitted.
2nd clue,The blue car is now yellow..... and I think the AA got called out to this car...
3rd clue, I thought you had got the Link

and then............

There's one more Elan...

and the final clue...
The owner of this car also owns the Etna, an M250...plus loads of other cars

and there's only one other set of blanks normally fitted and it's replaced them.
