Just thought id add this picture in here ;) brings back memories of when i FIRST wanted one. I saw the car on the game and fell in love with its looks! I was 10 years old in 1991, never thought id actually get one as i think they were about £17,000 to buy at the time!

PEASOUP

Yup, I was the same age & that was the very moment that I fell in love and wanted one.

Luckily the car lived up to and surpassed my expectations as a child.

Wasn't that a password for the 2nd version of the game where you had to cross each checkpoint before your time ran out? I'm not sure the Elan was an option in the 1st game.

The Amiga was a great games machine. Games were less fancy but probably more playable & more addictive than they are now.

Funny but I think that we can say also that cars from 80's "were less fancy but probably more playable & more addictive than they are now"

get a bunch of geriatrics and give them some nostalgia item.

suddenly everything from that era was better than modern times.

I agree that back in those days music was better but as far as everything i believe technology has moved forward, and if you were 7-10 now, you wouldnt ever consider that game to be worth a second look.

btw, i cant see any picture, are we by any chanse talking about this game ??

I remember playing thisquite a bit on Dos (im too young for amiga)
is this the same or a newer version of your nortalgia triggering game ? :poke:

DOS was only a year or two later than the Amiga but the Amiga clung on for a while because it was so well supported for games.
I believe the game you showed is slightly newer & uses some elements of both Lotus 1 & 2 on the Amiga.

As I remember soundtrack were important issue in that game, and Amiga had way better music capabilities than early PC's speaker.

So You have to buy Amiga for a better feel the Elan Turbo atmosphere :burnout:

It certainly has, 1 in 7 of the global population on Facebook the other day, technology moving foreward whilst the Human race moves backwards! :?

I remember saving for up for the first version for my amiga. No Elan in that one but after what seemed like playing it forever when you completed it you received a code and then you sent that off to Gremlin Graphics and they sent you your official Lotus license... Still got it as well
