just had my renewal from hagerty £302 for both the elan and excel ( agreed value, 3000 miles, including breakdown/recovery ) think thats quite reasonable

Yep, all things considered I think that it is, but ......

I've just renewed mine @ £205.00 with 2gether and am quite pleased, I've also just done the Jag for £225. What gets my goat is the need to have two insurances to cover two cars that I can only drive (and damage, short of running one into the other) one at a time! And, yes, I also recognise that the garage might burn down or collapse on both of them but the risk of this is low most of the premium being made up of collision risk!

So, £302 is as good as you're going to get so you're right to be pleased but, still, were all being creamed on motor insurance!

My mrs is on the policy as well and it allows us to take both cars out at the same time if we want

My Elan runs me about $550 US/yr through American Collector...with a 7500 mile per year limit with occasional general use permitted and agreed value.
1991 Lotus Elan Calypso Red
2004 Land Rover Discovery II (for work and daily back and forth)
1981 Land Rover Series III 88" (for play time in the mud!)
