I could just cry...

Postby tedtaylor » Tue 16.05.2017, 17:55

I could just cry...
I was washing and detailing my Elan in preparation for LOG37 (leaving tomorrow morning). I had the air line out to inflate the spare tire. While wrapping up the air line and untangling, the end (with heavy metal air chuck attached) swung around uncoiling and smacked the car. Unfortunately for me, it didn't hit the paintwork that could be easily repaired or touched up, but NOOOOOOOO, it hit the unobtainable clear plastic cover to my tail light lens housing cracking same.

Now my near perfect car has a boo-boo and I'm just sick about it. I have no one to blame but myself.

I've got one too but mine wasn't self-inficted...I look at mine and am reminded how fortunate I am to be fit and healthy...

Was just about to drive out of a supermarket car park when I heard a bang at the back and saw a a supermarket trolley had hit the back of my car. Got out to see what was going on and found an old lady on the ground who'd had a stroke and let her trolley hit my car so got more involved in First Aid than worrying about a crack in a bit of plastic...

Sh1t happens, forget about it and move on...

Edit ... Thought I'd add this... Easy for M100 owners, the word is FAST..

The main stroke symptoms can be remembered with the word F.A.S.T.: nhs.uk Stroke Symptoms
Face – the face may have dropped on one side, the person may not be able to smile, or their mouth or eye may have drooped.
Arms – the person with suspected stroke may not be able to lift both arms and keep them there because of weakness or numbness in one arm.
Speech – their speech may be slurred or garbled, or the person may not be able to talk at all despite appearing to be awake.
Time – it's time to dial 999 immediately if you notice any of these signs or symptoms.

Yup, in the big scheme of things - just a car... and I own Lotus cars because of how they drive and it doesn't alter that so not a big issue at all - to me.
