They are a Lotus part, IIRC they were remanufactured as the originals were no longer available and they have to be cut to size  Think you`ve got some sucking up to do with elan_red :smt081

IMHO you was out off order for leaving a negative feedback before finding out the truth and you`ve just ended up with a negative feedback yourself

That may be so, but as far as I can see at least they are genuine Lotus sh34e!

Sad as it may seem, you will find that many parts on the Elan are similar to this, the whole is much greater than the sum of the parts. I commend your efforts to keep the car 'mint' but when even the newest Elans are 13 years old you will not necessarily find parts that are identical to those fitted during production. Furthermore, the numerous small changes made to the cars throughout production means that what was fitted to yours at the factory is quite likely to be different to the same part fitted to the car that preceded or followed it down the line.

You have every right to be grumpy at the price you paid  even for genuine parts that's steep!

I think the lesson to be learnt is that not being armed with a true value of the item can cause you to pay way over the odds when using any kind of auction.

As for the quality of the item, there is a pic on the auction, which looks to me like smooth plastic... are the items you've received not as described/pictured?

Agreed, the buyer has the final choice about how much they want to pay for an item on e bay. If you end up paying more than you think it's worth then that is hardly the sellers problem, even if it leaves you feeling grumpy.
