In fairness, they look good on the 'right' car - and were fitted to the Group 2 works car(s)..... but on a road car they look odd (the rear track looks too wide, probably because of the larger offset Minilites, and the arches are needed to cover them.

I know that when they were unavailable and we needed a set to replace the ones on the ex-works car, we needed to have 8 sets made before they would remake them for us, and (except for the spare set in my loft) the rest were sold off to people who wanted them..... as with all things, each to their own, but I wouldn't have fitted them to this car.

A nice looking silk red Elan was parked in the performance car park at Goodwood FOS on Friday. It had a for sale note in the windscreen (but no price). If anyone wants the phone number, please drop me a PM.

Used my Custard Elan for a decently long drive at the Weekend (Essex to the Peak district) and saw:

a) Yellow Southbound M1 somewhere in Leicestershire.

b) Red on the A6 somewhere near Ambergate. They waved, I tried flashing (and was sufficiently ashamed of myself for having the top up that I stopped and lowered it).
