Hmm, What about the +25% premium

And the dash lights aren't on
all the time
FWIW I originally lusted after a Medina S2 but even tatty ones were over £12k at the time. Besides I'm getting on a bit so need somewhere to rest my left elbow and rather like the stripey seats

What do you mean? Suave? Sophisticated? Not overweight (like your typical SE owner)?
Happy New Year.

No-one mentioned the seat bases and stitching. Window switches repositioned. And I think Lotus even included the badges within its number of changes. Not sure if it included such optional items as the Nardi wheel though? Does the horse power drop become included? Stereo change? It's a very open chapter...
Incidently. When the cars were new and at dealers. Lotus had a special several page book printed that was the Auto Car article as included in this discussion. I have one! Nah nah na nah nah...

Whether you call them improvements or not, Lotus made over 100 'changes' and of course they would count each 'change' as an improvement
Still this all provided a little New Year entertainment. Might try and put a comprehensive list together when I have time...

S2 0-60=7.3s, SE 0-60=6.5s
However, I'd have an S2 just for the Medina Green = bootiful (as they say in Norfolk)
Joking aside I've had a few S2 "improvements" on my SE, springs/dampers/steering rack as bits have worn out and I'd say that the car is essentially the same to drive - a bit tighter but less supple if that makes any sense

Both are great.

Ratman, I have it all scanned but it was too big to attach. Let me have your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.
Sy, maybe we can add these to the Forum for downloads? Let me know and I'll send it to you (I have a lot of other M100 articles which may also be of interest? Between us I'm sure we can get just about everything ever published)

I've got it along with >20 others - all in pdf format.
This has been debated ad nauseam.
Bottom line is we need a huge depository on which to place them and a host who is blase about copyright infringement.

That's the one I have. It's the one dealers were giving out. I've also got the original fold out card with all of the options/ colours and prices of options etc. That dealers were also handing out to potential buyers... They both make great reading.

Having been warned off the
other topic by Deputy Doug
(even though every time I went there, I looked at it and thought "It's a good price, I COULD get two in the garage, shall I make an offer?" - thank goodness that temptation is behind me
), I'll ask the question again: Why does Gary's and my handbrake collapse fully as per the S2 manual whereas Matt's doesn't?

Think DD must have had a bad day yesterday!
But an answer to the floppy handbrake question would be nice!

Late SE's had a revised handbrake that didn't fold. It gave extra leverage and didn't "ratchet" low down the travel.
It was available as an upgrade kit but is now extinct. I bought one at Donny 2 years ago for £20 which included a new boot. I have the part number data sheet somewhere if anyone wants more info.
Maybe some S2's had these fitted or perhaps some folk prefered one that stayed up instead of being all floppy so it was a retro fit?
Edit : I seem to recall that the S2 lever cants over at an angle whereas the SE one sits parallel (i.e in line with the console)? If so then my 'retro fit' theory is complete bollocks

Geoff
When on, my handbrake lever stays up on it's own, but you can push it into the down position with your little finger.
Maybe you have a floppy, old and worn lever that won't stay up
