UK SE Register

Postby surfboardfiller » Fri 25.04.2008, 12:11

I'm helping Sy out with data entry, but I'm not giving out any info. This is a car register rather than an owner register.

If you have an SE then please let me know by pm(if you haven't already). I'm especially interested in cars broken or crushed; As this helps find out how many are left and can provide some interesting statistics.

Red are the most useful pieces of info. With just a registration number I can get a few other pieces of info, but not the important bits (without paying a load of money).

Colour
Leather Type: e.g. Full, Half, red stripe
FactoryExtras: e.g. Air con, red carpets
Mileage: Current
Engine Number
Chassis Number/VIN
Build Date
Registration Number
Date Of 1st Registration
Rigistration District
Owner
Insurance Write Off? e.g. Cat D
Status: e.g. On the road, broken, crushed
Comments: e.g. press car, rebuild, race car

In addition to this I regularly scan E bay and Auto trader. I also have notification of new ads from Piston heads. Although these rarely turn up a vin or engine number and sometimes have no Reg visible.

Thanks for your help. :-D

Phil

Yes Dave, thanks!

Just to make it clear to anyone why I have posted this thread.

Sys database is indeed this one, send to him or me, but Sy is extremely busy where as I get bored easily. I have added about 30 cars in the last 2 weeks. I have also added a few columns to the sheet. I posted this because I wanted to make it clear to people that there is a dedicated UK SE database as well as the NA and S2.

Way out.

Richard sent me his, I added to it for a while, but Phil offered to take over, so this is an improved edition of Richard's.

Phil,
I will get my data together and send it through to you.

Will you be posting any statistics as it would make a very interesting read?

Thanks,
I would love to do some stat's but at the moment there is a lot missing and without VIN numbers for the cars 'spotted' there may be duplicates of cars with cherished number plates.

It would be great to email every forum member and ask them for their car details for all the databases. I also want to pursue a few other avenues as well.

doh! I just see ... "UK" SE register.

Maybe we can expand it tot a real worldwide SE database? Maybe we can take the S2 into one database.

ps. I can help to host and develop software that owners can login and input their own data based on their VIN.

There is a Federal (USA) and an S2 Register. However a non UK/US register would be great so we can get a cleare picture of cars manufactured and cars on the road etc.

Sounds like a good idea, I have no idea how to do this, although there are a lot of people on this forum the info trickles in. I'd really like to change the database format as MS XL is a truly awful piece of software. It's hard to re align and can mix up all the data so easily it's frightening.
