Palacio Elan Sunday 23rd June 9.50am, going down Jubilee Road towards Finchampstead Village. I was running up the hill in the opposite direction, pointing at the car, waving etc. Was that you Jim??

Got home fine on Friday evening. The Elan is in the garage having a well-earned rest, after doing 3,324 miles in just over three weeks (the 24 were trying to find your new house!). It clocked up 100,000 miles just as we were approaching home on the new Aberdeen bypass.

I’ll restore it to 4 cylinders and give it an oil/filter/brakes service next week, but it was only fourth in the queue yesterday as one of our cars had a completely flat battery, another had brakes seized on and a 2 inch nail in a tyre, and the grass was a foot high! The good news is that most of the garden has survived against rabbits, badgers, birds and the weather.

It was great seeing you and your new place - we hope to come down again sometime.

John

NMY - ____ UMU heading south on the Fosse Way as I was heading the other way about 9.30 this morning. Roof up I think, probably sensible given as this morning was a little chillier than of late and I was freezing until I gave in and put the heater on (in July!!)

There's a small piece in the latest Classic & Sportscar magazine about the Jim Clark museum.

The picture has 3 M100s and a Cortina parked outside (2 x red, 1 x blue). Anybody from here?

Bern - without seeing the photo and the reg. nos. I can only rub my crystal ball and hazard a guess...

# the Lotus Cortina probably belongs to Dario Franchitti, ex Jim Clark's old one, and now on loan to the refurbished museum

# the blue one (aqua ??) probably belongs to Warren King, ex Lotus chief accountant. He was the last car at CC and made up the numbers to a round 100 (K589 JAH) or something ????) If it's close to that it will be Warren's :smt023

# one of the Collapso red's possibly belongs to Ian Lindley, a member of the JC Trust and a recent LEC member

# the other Collapso red might belong to another JCT employee, another recent convert

PS the lovely NMY (out of picture) definitely belongs to Rambo :burnout:

OK. That's definitely Warren's (aqua blue)

But not Dario's Cortina. His reg no is BJH 417B and he has a no 71 on a big sticker. That's the one inside the static display alongside Jimmy's Lotus type 25 :burnout:
