Ten together; must be a record turn-out since they were all parked together at the factory in 1995 :D

Mike took both Elan & Esprit on track the Elan moved around a little more than most. I remember seeing it close to the LEC gazebo between it & the entrance gate. His forum signature says S2 no 423.
I seem to remember it having a personal plate, so maybe that is why you did not clock it as an S2?

I'm surprised you missed the FAPping good M100 registration…
As in previous CCs, usually parked close to the pixie's tent or out on track.

so really it is just an ornament then, sad really, someone bought it as an investment maybe...good luck on that one then, although some collector will maybe snap it up and hide it away for another 20 years assuming of course it goes up for sale, perhaps it is in Matty's for the Cam belt update :chair:

It's got a Jersey reg' plate so that explains the low mileage, but why bother buying a Lotus if you live in Jersey ! It's basically a 12 mile x 8 mile rectangle of land and very built up. Most roads are 30 mph, open road (not a lot) restricted to 40 mph and lots of 20 mph zones too. Nearly as silly as all those ' expensive supercars' that never go outside Kensington ...

daveiow may slightly disagree with you Phil!!!!!!

The car looked like it had been properly stored, and was visibly in v. good condition, obviously apart from all the rubber bits, incl the original tyres. Apparently the owner had a 2nd Elan which he used to track. He's now having it refurbed back to concours condition (incl cam belt!!) and is expecting to sell I believe.

Maybe a pile of negatives around not using it, but at least it is still alive and not rotting away in bits in a scrapyard.

Well yes and no John!
This Island is a 23x13 mile diamond which still has a few places where you can exercise an Elan in the proper manor
Never been to Jersey though, always thought it would be a bit too much like home!
I've owned BFG for 6 years and covered about 10k miles (that's a surprise) the two previous owners managed 1300 between them in the previous 10 years. I certainly don't believe in abusing my cars but I truly think that she seems to respond to being driven enthusiastically.

There is a small run of 13 of the jim clark specials with red steering wheels , red piped seats and yellow spoked wheels ( which as an owner of 1 i am researching )
there is a Sun newspaper S2 giveaway Brit Ekland special as we call it . Thought it was a sun newspaper premium line phone number in aid of the Princes trust run by Prince Charles .
A 1st of the 800 which doesn't have a plaque , which i spotted it years ago via the chassis number and S2 bits , and the last of the 800 which is the silver P reg IB10 which is currently for sale .
yes you may say the numbers don't add up but we do have 802 / 800 but hey thats lotus .
2 others of interest are the peal essence white s2s that belonged to F1 drivers Johnny Herbert and Pedro Lamy .

As for the amount left on the road ..
When one of us has enough time an audit of all versions should be done ..
