For its next meeting/event on Saturday, June 17th, the Golden Gate Lotus Club will sponsor a run (roughly from San Jose to Danville) followed by a BBQ lunch at Mel and Darlene's. The starting point is the Santana Row shopping/condo complex in SJ off of Stevens Creek Blvd, and the starting time will be about 10 AM following the informal exotic car show that takes place at the complex that morning. This no-cost show starts at 8 AM, and you are welcome to arrive early to show off your car beside the other exotics
.
Everyone is welcome on the run, but for planning purposes please provide a confirmation if you plan to attend the BBQ.
PS: I will be leading the run (using my Noble), and, as an extra treat, we'll be stopping at one of the boutique wineries in the area
.
Cheers, Joel

Joel,
I don't think I'll be able to make it on this trip. If you remember the unique white and pink paint job on my Elan at Seca you'll understand why it is in pieces waiting for new paint. If not out in time, have a great time.
Jim

Jim--it's a well known fact that paint cures better when the car is moving (especially during a quick run in the sun
). Hope you can make it.
Doug--you have to work on that schedule thing
. Maybe next time.

I am really starting to hate this whole working Saturday nights bit... yet another chance to meet some local Lotus owners missed because I need to pay my bills.

Sometimes it's hard to argue with priorities!
But the show/run/winery/BBQ turned out to be a very nice--if a bit warm--day for 20+ Lotus cars and about 40 people. Here's a link to some pics that have been posted on the Elisetalk forum (scroll up to get to the pics)

There were a few "classics" (Elan, Europa, Eclat) in attendance, but no M100s except for Mel's, which was resting nicely in his garage to greet us when we arrived for the BBQ.
Cheers, Joel
