Just got back from a convention in Vegas. as one of my esteemed "California blonde" colleages observed. the Mojave ( according to her its pronounced MO-jav) is a pretty barron place. I can't wait to see the pics Dave and I'm glad that you and Amanda made it back OK.

OK, it's been a crazy week or so since I've been back (darn tax season!), but I've finally posted about the trip

http://lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8846

I've also had a chance to resize a few of the pictures I took at our brunch. It's always fun to see this many Elans together in the US. Nothing special for you chaps in the UK, I know...

Thanks for posting nice pictures Dave, flashing back my memory to that fun Saturday morning, or was it lunch :)

We had 4 Elan turned out, and a black Elise, same number as last Palo Alto British Car Show, just that this time we were fortunate to see Jamie's Elise up close .. very nice, unlike last time that he parked at the mall across the street to the show. :smt064. Good seeing you there Jamie. I test drove Jamie's Elan few years back. My first thought was... boyd... this guy works on his Elan a lot :) At the table, we were all impressed hearing story about his Quaife diff installation.

Forgot to mention... Dave showed up in his LEC cap and Piloti DTM driving shoes :smt023 Funny we were checking out each other shoes, hope that doesn't sound too ... :gray:

We managed to miss a Vegas adventure by a day or two again, Marie- I was out all last week... The lack of overlap probably saved me about 4 hours sleep one night, but missed out on what would have undoubtedly been a ton of fun!

Dave- best of luck with Peely, can't wait to follow another one of your threads...

So great to hear that you all managed to get together!

How 'bout April 21?

Postby JLSELAN » Wed 24.01.2007, 22:32

Good idea, Marie.
I know this is kind of long-range planning (but that may help Doug work it out :-D)--tentatively, I'll volunteer to lead a run from the Santana Row SJ "show" site to a nice lunch spot in the E. bay on Saturday, April 21. (An extra added attraction will be winery stop at a very picturesque spot along the way.) This will be a variation on the run I did last year for the Lotus club.
How does that sound?

Cheers, Joel

Yes, I do plan to let other Lotus types know about the plans for that day after I'm able to firm things up. From a logistics standpoint, I would be nice to keep the group from getting too large, though--hopefully no more than 15-20 for lunch, which will require a reservation at the place I have in mind.

Cheers, Joel
