Filled my tank with 40 lites of V-Pover Unleaded at Harlow on Monday. Pump showed £1.429 / litre but just noticed till receipt says 'Regular Diesel @ £1.369'.
Was looking to see what mpg closed loop ECU, Everest Chip and big bore Piper is doing... 25.3 mpg. Better stick to Pump 5 for the "cheap diesel" :D

Alternator fitted, and got her running (with a LOT of help from Simon W). We set his Elan's base timing and checked its emissions too, so a very successful Sunday afternoon.

I won't have a road-legal Elan in time to take to Hethel, but I should be able to pack my original off to have its outriggers welded next month, and then it will get the promised re-spray.

So I now have 2 runners, and they are both on their way back to full fitness! :-D

Seeing cars in pieces and tools everywhere at the festival and seeing the confused public :!: wandering past trying to decide if it was a competition to build an Elan in the car park before the show finished

Seeing Clemo this morning waving to every passing Lotus outside the Little Chef at the Mildenhall roundabout.

Couldn't mistake his stupid grin, and that f**king hat :-D

Driving 775 miles in a weekend to a factory birthday party....... and spending most of the day in a carpark surrounded by tools and cars needing repairs :D

... getting home at 8:00pm and working out that the car has performed excellently, and returned 37mpg overall - cheaper to run than my diesel VW.....

.... could have spent less on fuel, but needed to be at W-s-M for 1430, so didn't hang around (where it was safe to do so) - and why have a Lotus if you don't want to enjoy the driving experience, so apart from the first 'leg' between home and Geoffs house, it was roof-down all the way - wind in my (minimal) hair motoring at its best.
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually.....

go on - click this link - you know you want to!
