Not a carp or whine, but a celebration.

Great for both Liverpool and Spurs to win in the way they did to make it an all English final, (well almost given the number of foreign players these days).

But I do have to say one more thing......WOLVES beat them both :D :D

Sy would've been proud.

Liverpool:-

Ownership of the company - Fenway Sports Group (American)

Nationality of the squad - 5 x English, 1 x Welsh, rest 'foreign'.

Nationality of the Management - Jurgen Klop (Germany)

Spurs:-

Ownership of the company - ENIC - own 86% of the company = ENGLISH

Nationality of the squad - 9 x English, 1 x Welsh, rest 'foreign'.

Nationality of the Management - Mauricio Pochettino (Argentinian)

Chelsea:-

Ownership of the company - Roman Abramovic (Russian by birth, Israeli by Nationality)

Nationality of the squad - 8 x English, 1 x Welsh, rest 'foreign'.

Nationality of the Management - Maurizio Sarri (Italian)

Arsenal:-

Ownership of the company - Arsenal Holdings PLC (English!!!!!) - but sole shareholder of parent company = Enos Stanley (Stan) Kroenke (American!)

Nationality of the squad - 10 x English, 1 x Welsh, 1 x Scottish, rest 'foreign'.

Nationality of the Management - Unai Emery (Spanish)

So, from the above information, you can draw your own conclusions as to how 'English' these games are going to be........

..... but I accept that they are geographically located in England, and play in the English League - along with Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Wrexham & Merthyr who definitely aint English

Dave - I think you misunderstood my bucketful of sarcasm

It's even worse than that anyway

The Englishness continues with the assistant managers too. Liverpool have a Bosnian Serb in 2nd command, Spurs have a Spaniard and Chelsea have an Italian. I believe Arsenal have someone who was actually born in England ? I think the half time pies and Bovril are an English thing too

Good. I'd have liked it if the Baggies had been promoted too but good to see the Claret and Blue strip in the Premier League again. Oh and I think they'll survive if they spend their fortune wisely.

Keeping on topic: Lee Bowyer played in the Premiership for Newcastle. He now manages Charlton, who condemned Sunderland to another year in the third division with the last kick of the season in the 4th minute of injury time. This bucks the trend for Sunderland to escape from the division into which they've been relegated at the first attempt.

All I need now is hear that some relative of the Man City owner is giving Mike Ashley some loose change to go and play shopkeepers.

I have a sneaking suspicion that you may be right, but we live in hope.

Every year in our house, at the start of the season, we all have a go at guessing what the table will be at the end and score points for how wrong you are; lowest score wins. I am going to struggle to know where to put the Villa. Last season, I got Wolves spectacularly wrong! (and it is surprisingly difficult to get a low score)

Enjoy the Bernebau experience Dave. I don't envy you that long drive down to central Spain. Unless of course you were in the Evora. Which of course you're not :D
