I`ve just read it, what an absolutely load off :censored: shite. Hammy should of just stuffed his car in to Kimi rather than take avoiding action  There talking crap he gain no advantage, kimi was just slow in those conitions

Lewis Hamilton has had his Belgian Grand Prix victory overturned by the stewards, handing the win to title rival Felipe Massa, who finished second on the road.

Hamilton was given a 25-second penalty for cutting the Bus Stop chicane during his wheel-to-wheel battle for the lead with Kimi Raikkonen during the closing laps.

Although the McLaren driver appeared to lift off and was repassed by Raikkonen on the exit of the corner, the stewards ruled that he had gained an advantage by short-cutting the circuit.

"The stewards, having received a report from the race director and having met with the drivers and team managers involved, have...determine a breach of the regulations has been committed by the competitor and impose the penalty referred to," said an FIA statement.

Hamilton was deemed to have "cut the chicane and gained an advantage", thereby breaching Article 30.3(a) of the sporting regulations and Appendix L chapter 4 Article 2 (g) of the International Sporting Code.

With 25 seconds added to his race time, Hamilton has dropped to third in the classification behind BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld.

The decision brings about a six-point swing in Massa's favour in the championship standings, reducing Hamilton's lead from eight to two points.

 The decision will do nothing for the sport but damage it's credibility, it spoilt what was quite a good race, which is a rare thing in todays F1 :(

Bloody exciting race, and then for that to happen afterwards make you wonder if it is worth watching anymore.

Also, is anyone going to bother trying to overtake with the threat of such penalties ? Hamilton lost 6 points to Massa because of it. If he hadn't tried the move he would have gained 2 instead.

This was an absolute farce, it just shows how biased the FIA are, i for one really hope Hamilton wins this championship now as its apparant he's not just competing against the other drivers :!:

What a great couple of last laps - I was riveted to my seat. Normally I have to be woken up at the end !!

Great overtaking manouvres and avoidance of major crashes made it very entertaining indeed and I was sorry to hear LH had been robbed. Why have them up on the rostrum for the celebrations if there is a steward's enquiry ?

At least ITV didn't show any adverts when all that was going on - we have to be thankful for small mercies !!

Hmm, you'll just have to keep watching old races til people ask for their videos back!
Speaking of which, got any spare luggage space on the trip to Norfolk this weekend?

Terrible decision. Lewis clearly allowed Kimi his place back before continuing to race. He did not go off through an error either. Kimi forced him off.

Surely there must now be some very public speculation that F1 are very much biased towards Ferrari?

There are several incidents which suggest this:

Massa's pit lane incident from a few races back: If it were anybody else, then there would have been a race penalty rather than a small (for f1 terms) €10k fine.
The radiator barge boards from a few years ago: Yes they were illegal, but Ferrari gained no advantage from it :wtf
Hamilton's car failing in the last race of last season for a ew seconds...just ong enough to destroy his chances before it starts working perfectly for the rest of the race...after Bernie had made a 'bold' forecast that Raikonnen would win.....
Bernie actually started last season on a grid at one of the races that he liked to see Ferrari doing well. For a supposedly neutral official to come out with sonething like that would (quite rightly) be unthinkable in most sports.

Hamilton did pass Raikonnen very easily, almost as if Kimi deliberately slowed? Pre-arrangement perhaps?

The whole incident stinks.

Just got back from Spa, I`m going next year (4th time). It really is the best F1 circuit and experience by a long way (apart from the mud).

Just a few races to go and no more adverts to drive us insane. Trendy cider, price comparison sites, mobile phones, price comparison comparison sites, halifax, PCworld, DFS, get stuffed and good riddance.

Note the name of our caravan !!!
