As for the Renault punishment, well that sucks. So what if Flav did orchestrate events? He was a part of the Renault team, period.
RD left McLaren after the data pilfering issue & they still got slapped with an enormous fine & I have read several comments stating that Renault's cheating was much more serious.
The extra points gained would have earned them a serious amount of money yet they don't even get a fine.
As for Eddie Irvine's comments, I actually agree with him. Most sports are similar: if you can get away with something, then try it on. Footballers dive to win free kicks & there are similar examples in almost every sport.
What sort of message does this suspended sentence send out? "If you want to gain a few points, arrange a crash...We don't mind you doing it once but don't mkae a habit of it".
