Almost two years since my last post here, and yes, I'm still here. Have been on continuous chemo since 2013 which is keeping the beast at bay but my GP knowing I like fast cars explained my current situation as-
"I'm heading toward a brick wall at top speed and yet with the brakes full on. Any second now the brakes will fail and the brick wall will bring about the inevitable."
For some reason I have been fortunate, not only to have Maxine at my side, but also to be able to tolerate the chemo which I now take every day. Most of those who I got to know through diagnosis have already been lost to this damn disease. I have been spared these extra months for some reason.
I have managed to break my leg my wrist and a rib or two and cope with the nurse injecting my chemo incorrectly DOH!
I'd like to thank Dave Eds and ChrisT for being there when I need them and for helping Maxine have a break from my sole company. More champagne please!!!
For those who have and those who haven't-
If you are over 50, have your psa checked. Not just once, but at least once a year, then if it changes it can be looked into. Remember there is no point having your psa checked if you ride a bike regularly or have sex with or without anyone else in the week preceding the test.
Best wishes to you all and to another eventful year ahead
