oh bugger , the article made it sound like they where just laying the lawn and hanging the front gate .

Are they still trying for the anniversary next year ?

There's been a bit of a hold up in the process. Jim Clark would have been horrified  A local councillor wants to put mudflaps on his Type 25 race car in case it gets dirty. Health and Safety gone mad

I think the museum will be finished before my JC S2 ..

Is it wrong that i am pretending to look at my computer but i am actually peaking over the top of the laptop watching lots of fine ladies on Strictly come dancing .
I dont think the Mrs has noticed otherwise we might have to watch it together , and i may have to mention that i am only interested in certain bits ..

I am in EXACTLY the same situation. Except that using the iPad while watching Strictly is apparently fine, but reading an Elan wiring diagram means I'm not interested

Just looked and see there are 49 logged on, 4 registered users and 45 Guests who can't post anything... Why don't they join? Doesn't cost and owning M100 not necessary.

Maybe some are members who are visiting from a different machine to normal & won't bother to log on unless they have something to post.

I am trying to get a couple of Raspberry PIs running as Windows Domain controllers. Distractions like posting on LEC are keeping me sane.

:agree:

I only tend to log on when I want to post, see pictures or check PMs. Otherwise I stay incognito. (It's a small village near Worcester)

So all my home devices authenticate centrally.
If there was an easier way to do it, then I would welcome that, but the NAS are both configured to authenticate locally or with AD.

The other reason is because it should be possible.
The online stuff is very conflicting though. I have just set up DNS with BIND9 & none of the online stuff is correct. I eventually got it running with some trial & error.

It's a pity as the "view new posts" is not available when unlogged. Much more convenient to be logged in in my own opinion.

:agree: I've selected the "Log me on automatically"' box so I always arrive Logged On anyway ... come to think of it .... That's a good job as not sure I can remember what password I'd need to use ... :smt017

Any Midlanders on here this evening? I'm driving up to Leamington Spa early tomorrow morning. I was intending to take the Lotus, but I hear that a bit of white stuff has fallen today up there. What are the roads like, and should I take the family battlecruiser instead? I'm keen to take the Elan because I'm meeting up with a friend of mine tomorrow evening who won the Elan given away by Autocar back in the early 1990s, and I want to show him mine.

I'm in Malvern about 50 miles from Leamington Spa. We've had 8" snow here, but main roads are clear if not slushy. Side roads are covered with compacted snow, but not deep.
Given the 0 degree and more snow forecast for tonight, and 0 degrees for tomorrow I'd leave the Elan at home. However I don't know how much snow fell in Leamington.

Had you asked me 2 years ago I could have been more helpful as I used to live in Kenilworth.

Safe journey whatever you do!

Fredjohn, Thank you. I've just seen the news. It is funny how localised weather can be. We had not a single flake where I am. I now intend to use the Volvo. And I will put the winter wheels on this evening.

Really???? Used to go skiing with friends who lived up Mead Road (garden had huge wall and sheer drop onto Torbay Rd). Visited them just after Xmas with snow everywhere and I was struggling to get my Scimitar GTE up the hill to their house in couple of inches of fresh powder, even with a Salisbury diff' - and I caught them having some sneaky practice skiing down the road towards me ..
Admittedly it was in late '70's but this suggests it still snows in Torquay even with global warming ...
