Photobucket is borked......what do you use ??

Postby simonbuk » Tue 18.07.2017, 20:56

They've made changes to Photobucket so any links you have used previously will not work. That is unless you uograde to another account (at a certain cost i assume).

Now some peoples photis are still visible so what image hosting are you using ??

Hi Simon

I changed to http://imgur.com/ because I found photobucket to be very slow.

I see that any previous photo that was uploaded using 'Photobucket' are no longer available on LEC.
Looking at 'Pictures of Merlot' thread all previous photos now have a photobucket thingy instead

Hmmm, just checked a couple of my (very) old posts - I've not put up many pictures it seems. Anyway they still show on my screen. Here's a test one from my account on Photobucket from Castle Combe last year....Image

Don't use anything ... just reduce to 1024 wide by 768 high, and keep under 512Mb, and post as an image using 'Upload attachment' tab...

Yup, saw that, but you were asking for alternatives to Photobucket and getting Flickr, iCloud and others as suggestions... This one asked 'what do you use?' so I answered.

Big shame about Photobucket as a lot of useful picture heavy 'how to do XYZ" threads are now useless.

I think I do the same too. How often do you need an image which exceeds that?

My photobucket images still work on other forums. I think it may be because, like Mike, I don't use it very heavily.

I'm with Phil. All my images are stored on my laptop's hard drive and I only upload photos to LEC, other websites, e mails etc when I want someone to see a particular image. Everything else is private and not for open viewing

The beauty of this is that it costs zilch
