West Midlands Xmas Lunch Dec 2018

Postby Fredjohn » Wed 31.10.2018, 11:47

Thought I'd separate the Xmas lunch from the monthly meet thread and bump it up at the same time.
All are welcome, but please add your name to the inevitable LEC list:

Xmas lunch 2018 Sunday 9th Dec 1pm at Coach & Horses Weatheroak

1. Martin + 1
2. John + 1
3. Pete + 1
4. Joao
5. Deepak + 1
6. Dapinky (+1?)

All are welcome. Please add your name and decide upon your selection. We will be making a firm booking at our next meet on 15th November.

Further copy of menu (yes I know it says "evening menu" but it is valid for "Sunday lunchtime"):
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

John,

Angie isn't able to join me as her work commitments are a bit all over the place in the lead up to Christmas, so I'll be on my own...... typical, my brother has just moved back to Oldbury, so an evening would have actually suited us better this year as we could take the dogs and stay over.

Lunch is just a day trip (okay, a most-of-the-day trip) and if she is working until 1000, it makes a bit of a rush (as it's a 3 1/2 hr drive usually)....

..... anyway, enough of my woes, I'll be there.

Can you put me down for :-

Duck Salad
Beef rump
Cheese & biscuits

Who do I need to send money to???

(and for those who should have gone to specsavers, here is a link to a larger menu  )
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually.....

go on - click this link - you know you want to!

Not that it really concerns me as I won't be there, but I don't see duck salad or beef rump on the menu link you provided Dave. It sounds very nice but it looks like you might go hungry and only be on the cheese 'n biscuits. Prices look a bit different too

Should've gone to Specsavers after all

Mark,

I think that the nearest branch to you may well do a free test for blind old gits who can't read.....

... you fell into the trap of assuming that we were eating from the Lunch menu, as it's a lunchtime.... however, on a Sunday lunch, they serve the dinner menu - so I CAN order what I asked for. 8) 8) 8) (closest I could find for a blind git smiley)

But can you have the lunchtime menu at dinnertime on a Sunday ? That festive nut roast sounds good. As does the microbrewery

Definitely should have gone to Specsavers. If you read the top of the menu in Dave's link, it tells you which days and times each menu is applicable.
Anyone else hungry?

I'm planning to leave home at about 0830... Google calls it a 3.5 hr drive, and i need to pop in to B&Q for a roll of wallpaper! (but being a Sunday, our 'local' one won't be open at the times I'm nearby, so will pop around the M42 for an extra junction and down the Stratford Road.... hoping to be at the pub for 1230. (if I'm running a tad later, then i'll go shopping after we've eaten).

Thanks to all who attended - another great meal from the Weatheroak pub (and good company).

Special thanks to John for organising it (and trying to work out the bill with the wrong menu).

Martin - you were missed, but hope you both feel better soon.

I managed to be home by 1945, weather and traffic were kind to me (once I got onto the M50).

I think it is one if the facts of life. Whenever there is a group of people at a pub, restaurant, Indian, Chinese the bill never ever works out. It is always more than you thought, drunk or consumed

Any one else ever noticed that ?
