LOG 26

Postby Fubar1764 » Fri 22.07.2005, 04:27

We're putting together an RFP to host LOG 26 in Texas. We're looking at Ft. Worth so as to be near Texas Motor Speedway. Any Elaners interested in pitching in? Looks like it could be a lot of fun. Already got the local state rep on board. Someone else is making contact with the mayor of Ft. Worth tomorrow - he just got an Esprit! :D

I belive that Frank up at Sports Car World (near Waco) has been actively working hard for the last year to get the LOG here in Texas. Frank has been in business selling Lotus cars and parts for over 30 + years. He says that he has some very "deep" conections with Lotus and knows just about everyone, you should contact him: (254)471-5539

I'll gladly help with the Sat morning tech session. Don't know what else I can do based on the distance, but if you need help, let me know. I can e-mail and coordinate whatever I can from Michigan. Since I may not make it to LOG25 (grrr...long story), the thought of planning a road trip for '06 already might lift my spirits!

WHAT?! You're not coming to LOG 25?! You're so damn close!!!
As for LOG 26, we've chosen Ft. Worth to use Texas Motor Speedway. Andy (Barron) has been in touch with TMS. I'm sure Wally and Andy wouldn't mind a hand at the track. I'll put you down and keep you posted! Thanks!
BTW, you do realize that St. Louis is a mere few hours from you, whereas Texas is twice the distance!

Yes, but St. Louis without the Elan vs. twice the distance with the Elan...no contest.

I'm still thinking 25 is a good possibility, but a much smaller scope as far as the trip since I'd be sans Lotus. In the end, I will miss seeing all the folks if I don't go.

We're in the process of organizing a trip up to TMSR sometime in the next week or two to produce a video for presentation at LOG25. We're hoping to track Andy's Seven and put that on video. If anyone wants to join us, let us know so we can get clearance from TMSR.

Does TMSR use part of the high banking for track days as it appears will be done at Gateway? That's what I will miss the most about not having my car at the LOG track day.

Hi Dave,
I don't have the details of the track at TMSR. I assume there's banked turns. Elevation changes are probably beyond the features of the North Texas Plains! :? I'll keep you posted as to what I find out.

Confirmed a visit at TMSR with the operator but not the schedule. We'll be using a 3 lens CCD camera so the resolution should be ED or better. If anyone has a ball head mount, that might be helpful. Ah hell, anyone with a SteadyCam?! There will be at least three of us making the trip. Andy's confirmed, so we're likely to mount onto one of his Sevens. Anyone interested in "pitching in" (that's my attempt at legitimizing "goofing off"), let me know, and we'll try to make some room.

For selfish reasons, I was kind of hoping for an Oregon LOG. We will go pretty much wherever the event is held.

What we need for a flat land LOG is one of those open road speed runs. Actually the best chicken fried steak either Claudia or I ever tasted was in Terrell. Just get them to block of Rt20 for us and we can do a quick lunch run as part of LOG.

M100 breakfast gathering

Postby DeanG » Tue 07.03.2006, 00:49

A M100 breakfast gathering is shaping up. This will be either the third or fourth such gathering.

The Texas folks seem to be doing a great job at putting together a fun LOG.
