I had my cat replaced recently as it was ratteling a bit. Once upon a time I did a Lotus track day at Watkins Glenn, a Monday, the day after the Zippo vintage race. The guts of the muffler came addrift on Sunday evening. The track day was especially interesting. People behind me would pull into the pits to check their cars because of the strange noises they were hearing. When the guts of the muffler blocked the exhaust path I was way down on power. I would hit a bump, things would shift a bit and I would have full power.

I think this thread has drifted :offtopic:

As a new owner, I didn't know about the LOG. Bummer. I look forward to the next one in Indy though. That's a lot closer to home than Colorado. Even better, Birmingham is just 2 hours away! My leg won't even cramp up too bad making that drive.

The new issue (Sept/Oct) of Lotus reMarque (the official publication of Lotus Ldt) is on the way to all members of Lotus Ltd (as an club officer I get a pre-release copy). It has a full write up of LOG 27 with lots of pictures, most in color. There is an impressive picture of a M100 in auto-x that has a lot of weight transferred onto the left front!

Additionally there are two pages concerning LOG 28 in Indianapolis (July 31 - August 4 2008) or visit www.indylotus.com/log28.swf We will have a M100 breakfast if I have anything to say about the matter (Since I will volunteer to do the minor bit of organization required it will happen).

Although all M100 owners should attend LOG 28 they should all drive their family sedans or rental cars allowing me to win the concourse voting. Seriously Indianapolis is close enough to the majority of Lotus owners to insure a good turnout. LOG is the perfect place to try auto-X or do the track day. There are few places on earth where you will find as much or as good advice and help. An added benefit is that you can compare your performance against other similar cars. Check out a photo of a auto-X at a previous LOG. Now tell me that wasn't exciting.

A word about the Election Notice for Lotus Ltd officers that is in the latest issue of reMarque. Although I will be leaving the Lotus Ltd board another M100 guy; Mike Pearce is running for treasurer. Be sure to take a look at the new issue. Vote early and often.

I couldn't help but notice that you can go to every link at that LOG 28 site and never get any indication that the Elan even exists. Are we really teh calypso-red-headed step children of the Lotus world?

A nice contribution to LOG

Postby DeanG » Sat 29.09.2007, 14:48

Maybe a nice financial contribution to LOG 28 from us (M100 owners) would get us upfront at the concourse. I would be willing to kick in a few bucks to make that happen.

We could plan for a M100 table at the banquet (with a cute little cat on roller skates flag as a centerpiece like they do at yacht clubs), a Special Interest Group “technical session”… If we show some enthusiasm, come up with some ideas and volunteer to make them happen there is no end to what we could do at LOG 28.

Are there any members of this forum that are in the Indianapolis area and members of CHILL?

LOG Auto X

Postby lewtus » Sat 29.09.2007, 22:52

That M100 inthe AutoX is me in my car giving Boy Scout a ride...Could have used a few more psi but the car was being used by Lotus of Atlanta, and I drove the x180R...my first autox but 100th track day.
