I've checked mine today and all is well :-D (apart from the rust  )
My exhaust and flexi is slightly lower than the sump but unscathed

Have you got standard suspension Dave ? :poke:

Steve
Yes my suspension is stock apart from 63k worth of wear & tear.
I think what did the damage was that dip/ depression that caused us to bottom out 3 times in rapid succession .
If its any consolation we had no problems last year

So, 3 sumps mangled :?

May be worth a group buy, particularly for anyone planning the trip next year!

Thanks Pete :D :D :D :D Maybe at least ten so we can cover next year's damage and interim as well :bananasex:

FYI 2014 Ascension Day is on May 29th, so anyone thinking of going that is the date to plan around.

What ?? No learning curve?

First year in Ypres i dented some of the underside due to the road shape (15 cm higher in the middle)
I then learned to stay off the middle of the road, but choose a side and swap sides if road conditions force me (tarmac missing :-) No damage ever since i do this.

Last year however i passed a ridge under heavy braking. I usually let go of the brakes for a split second so the nose rises. However, the sun was exactly @ 90 degrees to the ridge, so i did not see it! (no shadow). Just a CLUNCK and a missing piece of the front lip to notice me of the ridge. And a lot of Euro's to repair it :-(

Then again: This could happen anywhere, also in Ypres ;-)

I know this is being discussed elsewhere but I thought it best to post where it was also actively being discussed:

I looked up the Isuzu part number for the sump and there were actually two different part numbers but part number 8970310180 supercedes the earlier number.

The number is STILL ACTIVE at Isuzu but they do not have any in the US warehouse and there are none on order for the US warehouse. They will supply on a part order basis only, that means it is no longer considered a stocking item.

The lead time is 4 to 5 weeks. The price for the sump is currently $169.50 and several dealers show a small discount. The best price I found was $136.00 plus $25.00 shipping to my address.

Shipping from my address to the UK by Parcel2Go is around $100.00 That is 3 day service, but really could be a bit longer due to Customs, etc.

Shipping by USPS Priority Mail (6 to 10 days) is $75.00 and Express Mail (3 to 5 days) is $85.00.

A group buy might be a consideration, but with a lead time of at least a month, is it really feasable? The order would need to be paid for in advance and then they would be shipped to a central location for re-shipment.

I checked and Amazon doesn't list them as well as Rock Auto. I believe Dorman has discontinued their replacement sump as I couldn't find any at any Dorman stockist in the US.

The pan from a Geo Storm is supposed to be a direct match and there are a few used ones around the US.

If anyone wants to have the details and place an order directly, send me an email and I will give you the details of who I spoke with at Isuzu dealers in the US.

Hi all,
My apologies for not joining you before in this thread.
It was a great day, lots of fun, a pleasure to meet all LEC members from UK and France for the first time.
Love your pictures and videos, I didn't make any...
Glad you enjoyed it all, and looking forward to meet even more LEC members at the 2014 edition.
Sorry to hear that some of you didn't make it without damage !

I'm planning to visit the Lotusfestival, so we can meet again.
