OK, we've had a chinwag and following the undoubted success of last year's LEC bike ride we have a new idea.
This is a two day bike ride from Reading to Bristol, with an overnight stop in Devizes. Most of the route follows the Kennet-Avon canal and a disused railway from Bath to Bristol.
Itinerary
Sat a.m. Rendezvous at a quiet side road near Reading (Spencer's Wood) opposite my son's house. Take bikes off carriers / out of boot and head off.
Sat p.m. arrive Devizes - stay at B&Bs, drink beer etc.
Sun a.m. breakfast, then head off
Sun p.m approx (18:00) arrive Bristol, catch train back to Reading - bikes in storage area near cab
Sun p.m. 3 mile ride back to cars, then home.
Please tack your name onto this thread if you are interested.
Overall the distance is approx 100 miles, so it's roughly 2 x 50 mile 'legs'. Not for the fainthearted!
Cheers
Jim
