Renishaw Hall are having another Classic Car Rally on Wednesday evening, 8th June 2011.

Well now your asking... It's been rained off the last two years!

It starts around 3pm on Wednesday, and goes on 'til dusk.

Admission is £5 per vehicle, for more information, please contact Stuart Bradley on 01246 222 777.

Basically the owners of Renishaw Hall invite people with nice cars, to come to the Hall's car park, meet up and admire..

A bit like the Hope Motor Show, but a bit more informal..

Good rally at Renishaw today... Forgot camera

Still the weather was good for a change and it was great to see a J reg. BRG and a J reg. Yellow Elan there.

There would have been a Red Elan there but I'll let Martin explain that one...

Ah yes..... That would be me, intending to take the Elan to work and then go straight to the show.

...... so, having left it until the very last minute .... I lock up the house, wander across to the garage, fling my stuff in the boot, drop the hood, and ready myself for a pleasant drive to the office.

Unfortunately, it took just one (pitifully unsuccessful) turn of the key, to remind me that I hadn't driven the Elan for a few weeks ......... yes, the battery was as flat as the proverbial pancake ...... My, how we laughed

So....I had to go to work (and the show) in the 'day car' instead.......ah well, it was still nice to see 3 Elans there, even if mine didn't make it

(Note to self: Must buy one of those 'battery conditioner' gadgets )
