I need your help....

I am a bit comfused (or is it confused?)

Last year, if my memory serves me corectly, I booked my room at ExpressHoliday Inn, even though I didnt make it to come.

This year I read posts saying that LEC ppl are gathering at Melbourne Arms and also that friday night meeting will take place there. (?)

So what am I supposed to do? I dont care for quality, prices (Not meant to be arrogant, its just that the difference will be minimal compared to the sum-cost of this trip) or distances. All I care is to be with the LEC ppl, so where do I go?

Please help me out as soon as possible cause I dont want to be left out like "Sorry sir, we are full, no room availiability..."

I understand that booking has to take place for March 17 and 18 right?

In case I am about to miss anything that is going to happen, count me in and BOOK me guys on everything, pubs, restaurants, tours, museums, LEC Stall help, Elan parade, you name it! Can send $$$ needed as well in advance.

Does that post sound silly? :~)

Costas, I think for once I might be able to help YOU here!

If the attached picture uploads properly, then you'll see that the Melbourne Arms and the Express Holiday Inn are both about the same distance either side of Donington Park. Oh, and Donington Services (the Saturday meeting point) are on the A453 on the roundabout at M1 Exit 23A.

Go here and as you will see from the photo at the bottom of the page, the Melbourne Arms is only a small place. I had to give them a lot of notice of numbers to fit us all in last year. Many people will still probably have to stay at the Express Holiday Inn, and as it's about 5 miles from the Melbourne Arms they won't be walking!

I think a lot of them met in the bar before making their way to the Melbourne Arms, and we all ate at the Express Holiday Inn on the Saturday Night. So don't worry, whichever you decide to stay at, you're unlikely to be alone. In fact I'm sure that there will be plenty of people keen to talk to you!

Costas,

The Express Holiday Inn is very clean and comfortable for a couple of nights, albeit lacking in any form of character. It's more of a motel than a hotel but a great base for everything as Neil has already said. And it's got a bar where most of the LEC people congregated

There were a few problems ferrying people to and from the Melbourne Arms due to the high demand for and lack of taxis in the area. I believe that if we were semi organised and knew rough numbers nearer the time a couple of mini bus taxis could be hired. Only a guess but worth a try.

I'm keeping an eye out on the daily papers - last year they had a sale and I'm sure I only paid £30 per night for a double.

Keep watching this space but don't worry, wherever you end up you won't miss the action. Your car, Sy's, Paul's, Monty's etc.......will be the centre of attention
