Right, I'll answer Stef's "call to arms", but this doesn't mean I'm losing my weekend or taking over organisation of the whole event!
As mentioned elsewhere, if Stef can get us a space, and if I can get the day off work, then there is just about enough (£126) in the LEC kitty for us to be able to hire a van.
Nige: what sized van is needed? Would Escort sized do, or does it need to be Tranny sized?
Has anyone got a van that we could borrow?
Where can the stand be stored afterwards?
I could use the van to pick up the Stoneleigh stand from Nige's, bring it back to Donington and set it up (with help). It might also be useful for ferrying people about on the Saturday night - those who were there last year will remember that transport in the Donington area is just about non-existant. With us being spread out over numerous hotels and wanting to get together, logistics was a problem.
Only thing is, hiring one would empty the kitty. With fuel costs it could even leave me footing the bill for the difference (not gonna happen)! So I was wondering - would people who participated in the convoy be prepared to donate a couple of quid each to replace the depleted LEC funds?
I guess a chair or two is required - I have a camping chair and stool that could be used.
Where are the AB cable samples, brakes, carbon bits and other previously displayed stuff stored?
What else do we need?
Will they provide a table or two?
Do we need a sheet to lay stuff out on or do we have that already?
Do we want to do the projector thing again, perhaps with JimP's DVD on? Would anyone like to volunteer to loan one (and a laptop)?
Stef: you've picked up the baton! Now if you want this to happen and can get the space at Donington, I nominate YOU project leader!
Anyone else second the motion?
Can you PM me to make further arrangements?
