Saw you guys on Sunday - I'd left the Elise in the public car park.
Must get along to one of the Club nights over the next few months, and perhaps pick your brains about a possible Elan purchase early in the new year.

I guess you are local to Callander in Scotland?
Glad you saw us, hope we put on a good show for the crowds!
The Elan will be a car you will never forget. Perhaps one of the other Scottish LECers can give you a quick blip as a taster and help you find one.

We did have a good time, but when they asked us to put in a team of Elans for the autotest, nobody told us that there would be so many rounds - it took 4 hours (I reckon that in the end Stevo & Stef were trying to throw the match so that Stef could catch her flight). Weather was very nice - I got a sunburnt face. Quite a difference from last year. The good weather really brought out lots of lovely cars to ogle (Dino/Cobra/DB6/etc), lots of trader stands, and lots of people to see the goings-on.

Yep, but they were good, and I think they were disappointed that the minis beat us in the semi-final - they were keen for an Elan vs Elan final.

Not sure as we were all tied up for so long on the autotest. I imagine that it was a yellow hardtop Elan which had just finished a complete restoration job, and won 3rd overall in the main concourse judging.

Best compliment I had about my car all day was when someone mistook it for an 04 plate
(oh and the worst comment was when a girl took the mick out of me for having a colour coded tax disc holder

Next year you're going to have to try harder in the Concours. You got marked down for having grass on your tyres !! You're going to have to do what the Capri owner did and drive the car there on the back of a truck and then put covers over the rubber so that you can drive over the grass and not muck up your polished rubber.
Booby Dickerse thought yours was shiny - but "not as good as that red one owned by the fat guy with the beard" LOL

I've been asked every year to do the autotest and always declined as it takes up most of the day. An Elan vs Elan final would have been good though.

Is that your tesco £10 tent ? just as well it didn't pour. I had a £6.97 Asda special at LM this year and got flooded the night we had a jumbo thunderstorm.
ps:John, it was a westerley breeze
not a ruby murray, and I was wearing thermals, not lycra due to the forecast conditions.

Seems like I'm known all over the place now! 
A friend of mine has just driven his Silver Tuscan to Aberdeen to it's new owner (sniff
) and stayed in a B&B called the King Robert. Turns out through conversation to a guy at the bar about cars n stuff he knows me! Called Andy (think that's what he said) but wasn't an Elaner.
At least he got to have a good chat and was introduced to some fine whiskeys!
Any ideas from people here who it could be? I presuming it was an association through Callander Classics.
