2010 mate so cannot be too precise till nearer the time. Have started looking at the various options though. The only major one will be the car shipping/freight and for that it depends on who you want to trust your car with. I'll post stuff as and when I get it- but they are still going to be rough estimates due to time and planning interval. I have a specialist near here who is looking at it for me.
Motel packages available all along the route so not a major problem.

Same for all of us Ian- thats why I'm looking at a couple of specialists in car transport. Peeps who know what they are doing and are fully insured.
Your car looks good now- are you doing more to it? Its got time to deteriorate by then. And we have to get it through the Europe run first.

Historic Route 66 runs from Chicago-LA.
Dave, my Elan is ok but there are lots of things about it which I would like to rectify, most importantly the worn leather interior. I should have time to do this before 2010 though.
Cosmetically it does look reasonably good, but I have probably waxed it more times in the last 4 months than I have my Nissan in the last 4 years

Definately up for this with a passenger though who knows whom - son, wife, mate
It needs lots of planning and commitment from people though for it to work as well as a spare parts van following!
