I think you'll have to read the terms and conditions but there will be penalties without a doubt - i would try to stay with the original booking if i were you.

I might pick up a passenger and also Ray may not have his Lambo then (I have offered to look after it :wink:

) but will guarantee another powerful beastie instead, just not sure of what.

I want to make sure we all get the same crossing but can't book his with 100% details yet, just that he is going!

For all you attending the Nurburgring here's a must. Take a trip down to your local newsagents and have a look at the June edition of 911 Total - its a Porker magazine in case you hadn't guessed (yellow GT3 on the front cover) There's an article on how to drive and how not to drive the 'ring - it looks fairly comprehensive and gives you tips and the best racing lines etc.. Continued next month and written by a female German racer who lives near the circuit. If you're feeling flush the mag. costs about £3:80

Hi Guys,

When in the village Nürburg remember to go and have dinner (at least once!) at the local Italian cellar restaurant called 'Pistenklause' just next to the main street.
Not only are very good dishes served but one can also enjoy a fantastic 'racy' atmosphere with lots of (historic) pics and other race items on the walls.
Normally reservation is required because it is very, very busy there. Best to do so at the beginning of the afternoon.

I've got one other suggestion for you.
When in germany drink only big bottles 'Weizenbier'. It comes in two varieties. 'Hefe' Weizen & 'Helle' Weizen. Great beers! The first tastes a bit fruity and the second a bit more bitter. Both never got me sick, no matter how much i consumed of it :roll:

Thanks for the info re beer though - can we get it from the local supermarket? I must admit to feeling a little guilty yet again cos i don't know a word of German and i'm going to have to rely on our european neighbours for their expertise in speaking english. unless of course any of you speak the lingo????

I'll take my laptop and translate everything thru Babelfish but have you seen some of the cr4p thats come out with. Most likely end up insulting people.

BTW, you can get 'Weizenbier'in supermarkets but it is best drunk COLD, on a sunny terrace or in the bar....

What time do you guys land in Calais
and
what route are you planing to take to Nürburg.

Maybe we can meet somewhere half-way to drive up there together.

I`ve PM`d Micheal with rough times when we get to calais can u confirm what time we arrive.

It takes aprox. 3 hours to get from there to Luik/Liege.
The Luik region is also a logical stopover on our way to Nürburg.
That would mean we could join you somewhere near Luik/Liege around 14.00 hrs and lead the way from there via a 2,5 hour touristic route to The Ring.

As soon as i know if I can get a couple of vacation days I'll get in touch

hi all

michael we should be able to meet you at 2pm but it maybe 2.30pm

we should be off the ferry and on the road in calais by 11.30am. Autoroute says 2.5 hours to Liege which is usaully an over estimate. we need to pick up costas which hopefully will be relatively smooth (kiss of death!!). So it is tight but in theory it should be possible. We must swop mobile nos so that we can keep each other up to date on route.

Yeah, that is Liege (same as 'Luik', as it is called in Dutch).
I figure you will pass that from Calais, via Brussels to Nürburg.
Just east from Luik, on the E40 motorway direction Germany there is a gas station with big Road Restaurant. A couple om KM before the exit to Vevrier. An easy spot for a meeting point.

No,no, I'm not lost, just still very much in the heat at work. I do pop in on LEC now and then, but haven't had much time to write, etc.

I'm looking forvard to see you all at Nürburg, the campsite is ready, Tuborg Black Gold will bee served to all, and 3 days of excitement is garantiet.
