Has it been decided, are we using the Bank House Hotel as our Rendezvous??

Seems a long way from the motorway to me, especially for people who travel on Saturday morning - if they're running late, they may be tempted to go straight to the show ground. Isn't there anywhere closer to a motorway junction?

The Bank House is about 7 miles from M5 jct 7.

Unfortunately Strensham services are between Jct 7 and 8, there is no crossover and no exits to local roads. The nearest motorway junction is M50 jct 1 (just a short distance from "the" layby) which is about 9 miles from the show ground.

The nearest rendezvous point that I can find to the showground is at Upton on Severn. There is a public carpark with toilets just outside the town on the road to the showground. There should be plenty of space early on Saturday morning. There are no eating or drink facilities in the carpark although there are some quite close in the town for those early and desparate enough! It is only 4.5 miles to the showground on an easy country road.

The carpark is at:-

http://www.multimap.com/directions/?qs_ ... nformation

should be easy enough for people to get to if theyre either at the hotel, or coming up for the day......
if youre on the motorway its M5 J7 and then A44 to A4440 to A449 and then onto the B4208 and about 100yds and there is the shopping centre

the thing is that the route to the show ground is then that road (B4208) all the way to the door........so I thought its a no brainer really

oh and Ive not forgotten to think of the campers but thought that the campers are nearly on the door step of the showground so they will probably be travelling whatever the convoy start point....... :-D

thoughts?

Gareth

Welldone, I think the retail park would be best. The corner of the car park nearest M&S is the quietest.

Waitrose is not so good,it is in Malvern town surrounded by lots of convoy busting traffic lights and the carpark has a barrier that is closed until the shop opens at 8:30.

What time are you planning to meet up? I am a new memeber who used to live in Malvern and the retail park is usually 'Heaving' on a saturday morning.
I'll have a think about any other possible meeting places and post them. 70-80 cars?

Dave this will all be taking place between 8-10am and from what i can see it won't be 70+ cars. I can't give you an accurate number but keep looking at the 'participation' thread to get an idea. Thanks fo your input btw :D
