Ok - I've booked 6 pitches at this stage - all names below booked in for 2 nights.

Toilets/showers are still being updated adjoining the pub and 1 shower fully in use. Breakfasts can be arranged at the pub but I would need to let them know definite numbers nearer the time so they could order up enough bangers and bacon

Having camped out at Fort William back in the 80's with temps as low as -26C, camping out in an English meadow with light snow flurries and 0C will indeed be a breeze.

BTW, at those low temps. the butane for the Gaz stove freezes and you have to put the canister in your sleeping bag to warm up the gas Also, your fingers stick to metal ie tent pegs, knife, fork and spoon etc.. As I say, it'll be a breeze at tropical Malvern

It's okay Mark - these bloody softies wouldn't know how to cope without someone to look after them - They obviously haven't spent 4 nights at an eastern European border crossing in - 20C !

As you say, 0C will seem bloody tropical

I have a cabin in the Highlands where outside temp can be -10C and inside temp -9.9C this time of the year Bloody Baltic and it takes hours for the snow to melt inside and the temp of the cabin to get to OC. But when it does, OC feels tropical. Very odd really but I suppose it's all relative.

Thought those that lived in the Peak District would be made of stronger stuff

I remember a marine comando going for a wee in an empty oil drum whilst doing artic training......that was about -20's...only he caught his 'thing' on the metal and stuck to it......
RAF had to take him back to camp complete with oil drum.......

up here in the peaks we're use to the cold too......still t shirt weather at -10.....
just change the flip flops for walking boots......

Booked the B&B at the Marlbank

I can vouch for the Marlbank Inn as I have stayed there a couple of times, before the toilet area was properly sorted!

Malvern hold the annual 'Van Fest' for VW. Never seen such a massive gathering of camper vans in my life. Amazing most of them make it! All over the globe the travel to this event and from the Malvern hills you can look down and see fields and fields all filled with campers. Mad. Wonder if Lotus will ever get as big??!

Good pub. The camping area is quite small but should be suitable for us to hog. Nothing that local to walk to, although 20 mins walk down the road is a small shop.

Yes Chris, I'll be there assuming I'm not having my new hip joint installed I'd already said to the Marlbank there may be a gang of us on the Sat. night

I've only booked for 2, I'm not sure what everyone else is doing but it saves on the hassle of driving.

Mark, my mums just had hers done and in 2 months she was back to normal. Fit young guy like you will be running round the block in no time.
