Still waiting on a new alternator arriving here, so will be cutting it fine for having the car ready.
Still heading down though, so happy to go in convoy, albeit I might be in a 2CV at this rate........

Archie - check out
www.marlbankinn.co.uk for B and B. We're camping at the pub campsite (x9 tents)and Christ and Debs are B and B'ing there. Looks quite tidy and reasonable prices for going solo. You may end up with Alan, Sarah and half the campsite in your room for a late night bevvy though. Don't forget the whisky
Will prob. be leaving very, very early Friday as going to see an S2

and then to my folks in Hereford

OK, that's me booked up at a B&B near the campsite (£15ppn with ensuite!) so no going back now.
Blagged myself a GOLD VIP ticket into the show - don't ask!
So is it just me and a 2CV in convoy????
How about meeting at halfords (straighton) at 09:00 then abington services at 10:00?
we need more cars

Archie - Windyfarmer's looking to hook on to a convoy of a BRG and a 2CV
"Finally is there a scottish convoy travelling down on friday? I live in Cumbria and could probably meet up at M6 J34 or Killington Lake services???"What time do you estimate youll be at Killy Lake (11:00 - 11:30 ish ????) bearing in mind you'll probably be dragging that 2CV along in your slipstream

I could maybe catch you up if I have a change of plans

Windyfarmer - the more the merrier, unless he's bringing a tractor. This is gonna be some convoy.

Mobile no's still the same and the owner is still as mobilephoneaphobic as ever
No stickers this year - didn't think it worthwhile for 1 Elan, a 2CV and a tractor

Any other takers for the convoy?
Looks like it's a multi-marque format so any skodas, trebants want to tag along?

Haha! What have I started
Alternator finally arrived but no time to fit it before Friday. 2CV has exhaust issues so it might be a Polo, just to keep you on your toes
P.S Any chance of a passenger ride for the Malvern convoy?

Me!

(I'm not brave enough to take a 2CV or a Polo in the main convoy

)

The main convoy! It looks like it's us two in one BRG - that's embarrasing!
You sure u can't get the alternator fitted for friday?

It's not the same with one car.
It'd only take a good mechanic 3 hours - that rules u and me out
You can ride shotgun no problem but try and get ribena running.

Hey don't remind me. He left me in a layby, with no gears, as he shot off after a gaggle of elise/exiges a few years back!

I'm sure the 2 of you could fit the alternator and the Hi-Spec brake upgrade and still get to Killy Lake by 11:30 to join the rest of the convoy

Might see you en-route - I'm still unsure when I'll be leaving

Arch,
The complement of Elans in the Clan McElan convoy has just doubled in size!
What time do you want to meet at Abington?
Serial Elan owner: 2002 - 2012. I may yet buy another one...

Mark, who'll be at Killington Lake at 11.30?
If there is a crowd there we'd better leave edinburgh at 8.30 and meet at Abington at 9.15. Should make it to Killy Lake in plenty of time.
Where do u want picked up Alan?

Evenin All,
Yes, I shall join you both ... & any others Skodas, Trabants, Reliant Robins or whatever

... at Killington Lake (Southbound Services) on Friday morning provisionally at 1130hrs.
I'd appreciate a phone call when you leave Abington services, I can comfortably get from home to Killy Lake in the time you will take from Abington.
I'll pm you shortly with my home and mobile phone numbers.

The passenger request was for the Saturday morning convoy to Malvern, just in case Sarah wants to go do her own thing. We'll meet you at Straiton, Friday am, probably in a blue Polo. I think the 2CV would slow things up a little

You did say the main convoy. No Probs.
8:30 at Halfords, Straighton.
9:15 Abington Services.
11:30 Killington Lake Services
PS. I've got flags for all the Clan McElans
