if I remember correctly it was the Wensum Valley Hotel and Country Club that was an excellent brick and concrete campsite

Only for the affluent Gareth!
Graham, Stef, me and some others all camped (separate tents I hasten to add)! <shudders>

Nah, that was the other time near Warwick!
One of the LEF guys got me a room at the hotel for a discounted rate and gave me the key but failed to tell me it was MY room. Being a lightweight, when I got piddled I retired early, thought he'd simply given me a spare key to HIS room and out of politeness slept on the chair in it all night!

As long as it isn't the beginning of July, I (or we) will be there.....

....August - camping sounds good
....October - Hotel sounds better!

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

Great ideas.

Both venues work for me and I'd be interested in attending either (assuming it doesnt clash with other events like Silverstone Classic or family holidays).

What is this "camping" of which you speak? My idea of roughing it is when room service is late. It'd be nice to have the option of indoor lodging for those who must fly to attend.

Geoff - of course the S2 wasn't launched until June 1994 and therefore you'll have to organise your own 20th Anniversary bash......

Well, whilst I can fully appreciate that a trans-continental dog would need suitable kenneling, and old gits like Geoff like a bit of comfort, I'm still young enough to enjoy a bit of camping!

If Angie comes with me, it will be a tight squeeze in the elan - she doesn't do 'basic camping' - but we fitted it all in when we went to France, so it is possible if you survive the Walker/Pink way (but not if you do camping the Dico way!).

If I'm on my own, it's a darn sight easier with a small tent and a sleeping bag - most of the spare space just then gets filled with cider for the evening entertainment....

From other LEC 'get togethers', some of my best memories tend to revolve around the campsite banter, BBQ, on-tap beer etc etc (but that said, we've had a good craic at some hotels aswell!!!)....

It's all down to what you make of it, and who else is there (even though some of them softy Yorkshiremen complain if there's ice inside the tent - you can tell they wern't in the South Atlantic in '82  )
