Jim,
Thanks very much PM to follow. LCD projector would be excellent, I have some original Lotus video from the late 80's early 90's featuring the Elan when it was new I can supply a video or DVD player but am also about to experiment with a new toy that turns old video into digital so it can be played on a PC or DVD player. I don't want to try to do too much and none of it be very good but I want to concentrate on 3 or 4 things and do them well. The offer of help is much appreciated and have no doubt I'll take you up on it

. Once Club Lotus have come back to me I should have enough info to start planning in some detail and so identify where I'll need help. The obvious is some assistance setting up and taking down and also people to cover the stand throughout the day so all get a good chance to rummage around the parts fair, I for one will have a small shopping list.

Ok Nige i'll put the projector at your disposal. I also have a VCR/DVD recorder unit that will transfer video directly onto DVD. Again, if you want to send me any videos I'll transfer them. In fact give me a list of any equipment that you may want to use/have the use off and I'll see what I can do....

I don't mind volunteering to man the fort for an hour during the day.

Well, Jim, I too have some videos (VHS) of the Elan from the Lotus promo to the Motor Trend TV road test, etc, as well as some Esprit stuff etc. Also have tons of the computer mpegs from the little clips here and there. Even have Dave M road course clips
Would be good if anyone stateside has ability to transfer VHS to computer-speak ? ? ? ?

Please remember that, like our english language, the States use a different form of VHS to us. They're NTSC and we're PAL format.
Most newer vid players cope with both but I thought I'd remind you.

My recorder will read either NTSC or PAL OK. Not sure, though if the DVD copy would be region specific of not ?? I'll have to copy one of the NTSC videos onto DVD and send it to someone in the US to find out......
Doug....if the worst comes to it, send me copies and I'll convert them.

i am 99% positive that my dvd player will play anything you care to throw at it, it is at anyones disposal if it is needed. My laptop is also available if needed. & of course an hour or 2 on the stand goes without saying.

Nige, I have already given a dvd of Donington 2005 to Jim which includes the colour corrdinated convoy. If you would like a copy i'll bring a copy to the november H&C meet (can not make October).
I still have loads of LEC stickers which can go on the stand as well.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

yes JimP is on the case re DVD. I think i'll do a few copies of the dvd i did. This covers the convoy, car park, and a little bit of the show. They can be distributed so that the corners of the country are covered for re-copying and distribution.
If Dougs watching PM your address and i'll 'wang' one over to you!!!

Yes I'm on the case, but I only ever received 3 people's footage. I'll be doing another one quick with the Donny stuff and the Callander footage / photos that I took.
I'll be bringing my laptop and some extra DVD's so should be able to create some more if they all go....

I'm relatively local, being a brummy, and would be happy to help out as necessary, looks like you have enough offers of IT kit, but i'll add to the bunch with another laptop, 17inch widescreen and wifi if its any use. at this rate we will have queus of people just coming to check their hotmail...
I'm also happy to lend my S2 to the stand although the interior is in desperate need of a clean up.

Back on the case of the stall as promised after a short interruption! Thanks to all for the offers of help and loan of equipment I'm now turning these into a plan. Talked my ideas through with those at both Southern and some at East Mids meets and no-one has told me I'm mad if even they think it. At last contact with Club Lotus I asked for 3 tables, power and a phone point. Sam at Club Lotus was supposed to come back to me but hasn't so I'll chase. Plan for the stall is 3 tables with a backdrop using the stand Jim P has offered as a centrepiece to the backdrop. Intend to have at least a copy of the site up and running on a laptop and also have a good selection of Elan video on DVD that can be on a laptop or ideally projected. Backdrop will have photos on a couple of themes, what we do to our cars and what we do with our cars. Aim to produce a few factual pieces about Elans to deal with the typical sort of questions that are asked by those who don't know much about the M100 a few quotes from period magazine reviews should also be ok if credited. The idea of selling a DVD is a good one but has a few issues as permission would be needed from all who own the copyright on every clip and extract. Whilst I'm sure most here would willingly give permission it is likely to be a different question witrh some of the commercial stuff as these people employ lawyers (an honourable profession I'm sure)!
I have some new upgrade bits yet to be fitted that can be used for display and I have a prety good idea of who else has stuff that I might find useful such as Elanscan (ESM) Dyno graphs (JohnW) CF bits (Darren) Brake set (Muley) clothing (Monty) etc. In the next few days I'll PM or e mail all I think can help in this way and ask.
Making sure everything on the stand is secure and watched over at all times is an understandable concern of anyone who offers kit for display, me included. What I intend to do is be very organised about this and put together a roster of who will man the stand and when. I'll accomodate what people can and can't do but all who are prepared to give up an hour or so will have a clear time during which they are it. That saves confusion and everyone will know what they are doing.
When I get hold of Sam at Club Lotus I'll also try to get answers to some of the questions about where we park the M100s do we need tickets or not etc.

Nige:
The hall has WiFi - so can we get a laptop hooked up wireless to intarweb to show the forum and site easily enough, I have a PCMIA wireless adapter if its needed etc etc.
Sy passed on that Drivers get in for free, and we have 50 indoor parking spaces, no idea on numbers at the moment though,
